About this course

Experiment with multiple print methods within the same image to make unique prints. Lino, drypoint and monoprint are the main mediums, combined with various colour and monochrome techniques.

Course Description

Learn the basics of lino, dry point and monoprint and various exciting and innovative ways of combining and challenging these printing methods. You will be working in monochrome to enable a succinct understanding of the methods.

Printing by hand and with the press will be taught. The technical pros and cons of both will be discussed enabling you to move forward with knowledge of when to use each in your work.

By the end of the course you will have a wide knowledge in how to combine two-five different print techniques on the same image. You will have a basic technical knowledge of printing including by hand and when to use a press. This course will give you the confidence to experiment within print, and not see its technical challenges as boundaries, but instead as rules to be broken. You will also have explored your own preconceptions and boundaries in your work, and challenged yourself artistically to allow for a beautiful freedom of expression.
