Summary

Make plant sculptures from wax using traditional techniques including melting, colouring and forming wax shapes. Make support frames, take moulds from petals and leaves, then cast wax to create multiple parts, assemble and finish with sanding, paints and varnish.

Tutors

Annette Townsend

Annette Townsend is a freelance natural history artist with over 20 years' experience. She previously worked as a scientific artist and conservator at the National Museum Wales. She is an expert in wax modelling and has produced commissioned work for the National Botanic Garden of Wales, Kew Gardens and the BBC.
