About this course

Explore the creative possibilities of working with ink and soft pastel, using brushes and hand-cut reed pens. Experiment with techniques in line drawing, mark-making, colour and composition. Take inspiration from still life and landscape to make both abstract and figurative studies from observation.


Jason Bowyer

Jason Studied at Camberwell School of Art and the Royal Academy Schools. Jason won the Changing Faces Award from the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and the Prince of Wales Portrait Drawing Prize. He is former president of the New English Art Club and founded their School of Drawing in 1993. He is an elected member of the Pastel Society and the Royal Portrait Society.
The artist's residences have included Fulham Football Club, the Grove Park Music Festival and he was Championship Artist at the All England Lawn Tennis Club at Wimbledon. Jason was an official war artist in Afghanistan for the Royal Electrical Engineers (REME) at Camp Bastion.
