Feed the bees, birds and butterflies, and grow amazing bouquets for yourself and your friends and family to enjoy. Flower farmer Georgie Newbery will show you all the tips and tricks she has for designing a successful cut flower patch. This will include what to plant for a long season of interest.
In the afternoon, Georgie will give a seed sowing demonstration, followed by how to make up a bouquet from your flower patch.
This aims to be a fun day for which you need nothing more than enthusiasm for creating your own cut flower patch to become part of your every gardening year.
9.30-9.45am: Check in at West Dean College, Student Welcome desk. Greeted by Short Course Team, for a short walk across gardens to the Carrington Studio.
10am Session 1: How to design your cut flower patch.
11am Coffee break (20 minutes).
11.30am Session 2: What to plant for a long season of interest.
12.30 Lunch at the West Dean College dining room, then return to the Carrington Studio.
2pm Session 3: Demonstrations on seed sowing and bouquet making.
3pm course ends.
