About this course

Please note that this drawing day is only bookable by West Dean Foundation Diploma in Art and Design students (FDAD). The focus of Drawing Day is to explore drawing in its broadest sense and to develop confidence in self-directed study. Rachel Larkins will introduce the subject and provide support and guidance throughout the day. To book your place click the BOOK NOW button.

Rachel Larkins

FDAD Core Team Tutor and Short Course Tutor

Rachel Larkins is a tutor on the FDAD program and has been teaching short courses at West Dean since 2017. Rachel holds a distinction level Masters in Sequential Design/ Illustration from Brighton University following an early training in Textile Art (BA Hons). Rachel's work encompasses drawing and narrative sculptures and is held in numerous private collections.

Caroline Wendling

FDAD Core Team Tutor and Short Course Tutor

Caroline Wendling's work explores ideas of place and belonging through layered projects that draw on history and explore local myths, inviting re-imagings of sites. She takes her audience on a physical, sensory and emotional journey leaving them with a poetic encounter and a story to tell. In 2012, she created her first walk near her studio. Subsequent walks took her to New York City, Norfolk, Suffolk and Scotland where she created White Wood, a living monument to peace that will develop over the next 900 years.
