Colour is at the heart of painting; it is used to create light, space, mood and movement, yet it is rarely fully understood. By taking five contrasting approaches and through a structured series of practical projects, your confidence builds in handling colour and understanding its role. Investigation of some of the major developments in colour theory, a slide show and video presentations are all included in this challenging week.
Mark had an eclectic training which has influenced his broad range of media and working processes.
After graduating from Falmouth School of Art he held two post graduate scholarships in Paris and Gujerat India.
He is particularly interested in colour and markmaking which he has explored in glass, textile, printed books, murals and traditional materials.
"I believe that all people have an individual artistic voice which is either unrecognised or undervalued, my aim is to involve each student in a process of radical discovery. The tutor's role is to ask the right questions and provide different approaches and media to enable this to happen."
