Summary

Work with five established artists, each offering their own individual approach to this core subject. Structured exercises are introduced each evening and day exploring drawing processes using a broad range of media. Subjects include accuracy and observation, life drawing, perspective, drawing with the senses, and recording and thinking.

Tutors

Andrew Fitchett

Andrew comes from a Graphic Design and Advertising background. Working mainly with oil on canvas, drawing is at the heart of Andrew's work which explores the many ways human and natural worlds interlink. Exhibiting across the UK Andrew's paintings are in private collections in Belgium, Germany, Norway, America and Canada.

Freya Pocklington

Freya trained at Edinburgh College of Art and UAL and teach at GOSH, V&A and as a lecturer. My drawings have been shown in the RSA, Mall Galleries, Art Below for Frieze, James Freeman Gallery and others. My work is held in the V&A, British Museum, RSA and NOA collections.

John T Freeman

John T. Freeman was born in London 1958 and trained at Bath Academy of Art ( Corsham ) and Chelsea School of Art . He has taught since 1985 as a freelance tutor and lecturer to all levels of ability across a wide spectrum including the computer games industry , Lion Head and Media Molecule , Hurtwood House School, Watts Gallery, Tate Britain, and the Prince of Wales Drawing School.

Maxine Relton

Teaching at West Dean since 2005, Maxine works across drawing, painting, printmaking, bookmaking and mixed media. Exhibits widely, runs a 3-floor gallery of her work in Gloucestershire, included in public and private collections around the world. Trained in London at Camberwell and the Slade. An elected member of the Royal West of England Academy.

Veronique Maria

Veronique Maria has a BA (hons) in Wood, Metals, Ceramics and Plastics from Brighton University, an MA in Psychosynthesis Psychology (Applied to Fine Art Practice) from Middlesex and is a Leadership Graduate with The Coaches Training Institute USA. She has worked as designer, artist and artists' mentor for forty years and exhibits internationally. She makes sculpture, painting and video and is passionate about the transformative power of creativity.
