Musical instrument making - starting or continuing projects An exciting opportunity to either start making a new instrument in preparation to join our nine day course or to continue one you have already begun. If you are starting a new instrument or are new to these courses, please contact us before booking. Instruments should be selected according to your woodworking experience and interests. The tutor will contact you to discuss your choice and the materials required.


Renate Fink

Renate Fink trained at the London College of Furniture, later London Guildhall University as a maker of early fretted instruments. She worked for several violin shops in England and on the continent before setting up her own business. She has been teaching at West Dean since 1998. Renate is a member of the British Violinmaking Association.
