Between thought and expression – imagery for textiles with Michael Brennand-Wood

You will be introduced to a series of surreal creative strategies and technical approaches to generate expressive and unpredictable imagery, largely through the medium of textiles. The work of selected Surrealist artists will be referenced, as collage, decalcomania, frottage, cut-up and automatism are explored. Emphasis is on investigation and research of personal imagery and innovation of ideas to develop at a later stage.


Michael Brennand-Wood

Michael has an international reputation as one of the most innovative artists working in textiles today. He has lectured at Universities in London, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Poland and USA.His work is represented in collections worldwide, including the Victoria & Albert Museum and the National Gallery of Australia.
