£397Build your photography to an enviable standard, with expert guidance and help from one of the UK's leading landscape, architecture and travel photographers. The course has been designed for those already familiar with the basics of photography.
As with all creative endeavours, the technical control is just the start of a long process of refinement. The tutor will unveil skills and principles, getting you to fully explore the creative process that goes into making defining photographs.
The course will concentrate on a variety of photographic disciplines, while using the backdrop of West Dean Gardens, local architecture and landscape, you will be able to explore many differing skill sets within close proximity including the following key subjects:
• Composition and creative decision making
• Learning extensive camera control
• Explore greater image aesthetics
• Simplification of imagery for greater impact
• Colour / Black and White and an introduction to infrared photography
• Spontaneity and speeding up your flow
Another key aspect will be to extended your photographic computer skills, one of the most vital skills to master in todays modern world of digital photography. The tutor will be on hand to help you get the very best out of your own photographs and create a truly exciting photography course.
To start there will be an illustrated talk about the tutor’s own professional portfolio, with images from across the globe and the underpinning thought processes that go into making a great photograph. He actively welcomes discussion and participation in uncovering his and your own photography.
Arrival Day - this is the first date listed above
Courses start early evening. Residential students to arrive from 4pm, non-residential students to arrive by 6.45pm.
6.45pm: Welcome, followed by dinner (included).
8 - 9pm: First teaching session, attendance is essential.
Daily timetable
Classes 9.15 - 5pm, lunch is included.
From 6.30pm: Dinner (included for residential students).
Evening working - students may have access to workshops, but only with their tutor's permission and provided any health and safety guidelines are observed.
Last day
Classes 9.15am - 3pm, lunch is included.
Residential students are to vacate their rooms by 10am please.
