The aim of the course is to introduce ways of working within Photoshop Elements, where you can explore creating exciting images digitally, apply to different surfaces and hand finish using a variety of oil based media.
Through step-by-step instruction, your tutor will take you through the essential digital tools and processes, to enable creative process.
The Photoshop Elements tools covered include: creating layers, selection tools, copy and paste, scale, flattening an image, cropping, erase and delete, opacity, flipping an image, save and print. You will use an image supplied by your tutor before selecting your own to work from, and your edited images will be saved and printed out on specialist paper, ready for the next day.
On day two, the tutor will demonstrate how to apply the transfer onto different surfaces. You will then transfer your own images, and be guided and encouraged whilst experimenting with collage, and drawing and painting into your work.
Learning outcomes will include acquired knowledge on how a painter can use Photoshop Elements to help create mixed media work, along with how to hand finish with oil based media, to create exciting and original paintings.
