Summary

An experimental course exploring screen printing and painting to build up layers of colour on opaque and semi-transparent fabrics. Using Procion dyes on natural fabrics, explore playful possibilities to make collage, 3D constructions or flat pieces of cloth in which transparency is discovered in the character of the printed marks. Follow this course with a day of heat transfer printing - which offers an even more glowing palette.

Carole Waller

Carole Waller is a well-known textile artist with an international reputation for her expressive approach to putting ideas, colour and imagery into cloth.Her own work is suffused with colour and depth - and her knowledge of working on 'unprimed' canvases, silks, cottons, wool and manmade fabrics has been acquired in the 25 years she has run her studio near Bath.
