An inspiring day to launch your exploration into watercolour painting. The tutor will begin this one day course with a talk on the basic principles of observation and use of colour. Drawing and painting from still life, you will discover the exciting versatility of watercolour. You will explore form, create washes and discover brush handling. During the afternoon, you will complete your own watercolour painting.
You will also look at how different artists interpret still life through their use of colour, composition and technique.
There will be some simple demonstrations to follow, as well as one-to-one guidance. The day will conclude with a brief discussion to help give you the confidence to keep painting.
