About this course

Create a simple wirework bouquet using hand forming and manipulation techniques.

Course Description

Inspired by the great British Garden and bringing the outside in! Learn how to hand shape and form wire to create a variety of types of flowers and foliage. Using tools and objects to form the wire around and learning techniques of how to join the wire, each student will take home a small bouquet of wire flowers.


Timetable for one day courses

Students should arrive by 9am for registration.

Classes are from 9.15 - 5pm

Lunch is included.

  • On this course the College will supply some of the materials including iron wire.

Please bear in mind, wirework can be tough on your hands. Please wear appropriate clothing/aprons for the workshop or studio, this includes stout covered footwear i.e. no open-toes or sandals. You may need safety boots, if specified above.


Helaina Sharpley

Helaina has been working with wire for over 10 years, graduating from Hereford College of Arts in 2006, BA (hons) Design Crafts and running workshops with all ages throughout her career. In 2016 she ran workshops in Tokyo, Japan. The artist works from her studio at The West Yorkshire Print Workshop.
