About this course

Learn how to use a simple sewing machine to create a machine embroidered bowl.

Course Description

You will be taught how to set up your machine for freehand embroidery, then working with an embroidery hoop, you will use basic stitches to create designs on acetate fabric, incorporating a variety of threads and sheer fabrics. When stitching is complete, the design is immersed in acetone solution, dissolving away the base fabric, leaving the lace effect stitching which can be moulded into shape. You will take home a completed bowl. You will develop skills in machine embroidery and gain confidence to work on your own at home.
