Postgraduate student becomes QEST Scholar
Margaret Jones, a West Dean College postgraduate student currently studying toward an Master of Fine Arts (MFA) specialising in Tapestry and Textile Arts, has been awarded a Scholarship for British Craft from the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST). Awards between £1,000 and £18,000 are made to craftsmen and women of all ages in order to help them further their careers. Since 1991 the Trust has awarded £2.4 million to 339 individuals in support of further study, training and work experience.

As the charitable arm of the Royal Warrant Holders Association, QEST was established in 1990 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Association and the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. The Trustees look for well thought out projects, which will contribute to the pool of talent in the UK and reflect the excellence of British Craftsmanship as symbolised by the Royal Warrant of Appointment.

Winning the QEST Scholarship will ensure that Margaret can further develop and expand her tapestry weaving practice and concentrate on the production of three-dimensional techniques. Margaret will be presented with her certificate in a luncheon in Central London in June 2015 - congratulations to her on a splendid achievement.
