Open House was started in 1992 as a small, not-for-profit organisation to promote public awareness and appreciation of the capital's building design and architecture. The intention was to open up London's splendid buildings to the general public who don't otherwise have access.
Philip Sanderson is a Master Weaver and Designer at West Dean Tapestry Studio and Associate Tutor on the full time Tapestry and Textile Art programme. After a Foundation at Cleveland College of Art Philip studied Tapestry Weaving as part of the Constructed Textiles BA (Hons) at Middlesex University. He went on to study MA in Tapestry Weaving at the Royal College of Art. His work is rooted in a Landscape tradition, usually working with photographic imagery that is then translated into woven tapestry. Philip work was shortlisted for the John Ruskin Prize; Recording Britain Now and The Cordis Prize for Tapestry.
