Gabriele Beveridge at Seventeen Gallery
Previous Artist-in-Residence, Gabriele Beveridge is showing new work at Seventeen Gallery in London. The solo exhibition, Live Dead World, include a series of photograpms made by Beveridge during her 2017/18 residency at West Dean College of Arts and Conservation.
The exhibition includes photographic imagery, blown glass, cropped posters and promotional material found in beauty salons. A new addition to Beveridge's practice are the black and white photograms - unique exposures of photographic paper developed as experiments with photo-chemicals and light. Like the folding glass orbs dispersed through the exhibition, the delicate, organic nature of these images offer a counterpoint to the geometric, modular, mass-produced systems that Beveridge deploys.
Gabriele Beveridge (b. 1985, Hong Kong) lives and works in London. Recent solo exhibitions include Soft Shrinking Tremor at Parisian Laundry, Montreal (2017), Eternity Anyways at Chewday's, London (2016), Mainland at MOT, Brussels (2015), Health and Strength at La Salle de Bains, Lyon and Gold Diamond Park at Elizabeth Dee, New York (2014).

Residencies at West Dean College
The West Dean College residency programme provides professional artists, writers, and makers the opportunity to work onsite for a period of one to three weeks. The resident artists engage with students studying at West Dean College, providing tutorial support, leading workshops, and giving presentations on their practice.
Partnership residencies include the 2019 collaboration with the De La Warr Pavilion. These provide West Dean students with outstanding professional practice opportunities, including group tutorials with curators, involvement with the fabrication of work, and invitations to exhibition previews.
