Frances Doherty Ceramics -

Frances' work is inspired by plants in all their forms, from the hairy opening bud of a poppy, to the perfect Fibonacci that is an opened dahlia. She studies the patterns within the form of the plant and uses these as guidance to build her sculpture. She also plays with scale, making sculptures large to give us an insects eye view. All the sculptures start on the wheel and are then modeled into the thrown form. She works in fine white stoneware.

Gabriella Casemore -

Gabriella Casemore is known for her refined modern interpretation of floral designs, mainly in silver. Endlessly fascinated with the complicated structures found in flowers, she designs by exploring her ideas with paper first; folding, cutting, layering, then eventually translating these ideas into highly wearable silver jewellery. Gabriella handcrafts every piece with a meticulous attention to detail and finish, using traditional techniques, from her studio at Brass Monkeys in Hove.

Georgia Lingwood -

The Victorian era is of great inspiration to my artistic practise, specifically their passion for collecting curios and preserving life’s memories in unique forms. This inspiration has lead me to assemble my cabinet of curiosities; horns, antlers, insects, taxidermy animals, letters, poetry books, antique maps, ambrotype photographs and dried flowers are amongst just some of my hoards of collected oddities. Strangely enough the word ‘ambrotype,’ from the Ancient Greek: ἀμβροτός, translates to “immortal,” ideally de- scribing themes within my own artwork. These objects that personify the transient nature of life tell their own tales which form the backbone to my artistic creations. My artistic style varies from piece to piece, delicate pencil drawings with antique collage to ‘pyro- graphed’ animal skulls with real insects cast within their bone.

Heike Roesel -

Throughout Heike Roesel's artistic practice, etching has always been her medium of choice. Her prints inspire the observer’s imagination and send people on a joyful journey, finding a new aspect in the print every time they look. Inspiration for these images often comes from shapes and forms in landscapes but also every day life situations. She mixes those impressions with a sprinkle of imagination to create these ‘worlds of their own’.
