Artist-in-Residence Open Call 2019

Artists are invited to send proposals outlining how they wish to spend their time at West Dean College, what facilities they would require in order to fulfil their proposal, and an indication of any additional support (including materials budget of up to £200). Please note that travel costs are only covered within the UK.

The online application includes:

  • A 300-word proposal outlining aims for the residency, how it will contribute to the life of the College, particularly the Fine Art programmes, and how it will impact career development
  • A 200-word artist statement
  • A current CV
  • Five images of work (files no larger than 500kb)
  • Link to website

Due to the large number of submissions, we regret that feedback cannot be given on individual proposals.

Residencies are available for three-week blocks within the following dates:

Block 1: Monday 8 October 2019 - Friday 13 December 2019

Block 2: Tuesday 14 January 2020 - Friday 8 March 2020

Block 3: Tuesday 21 April 2020 - Friday 5 June 2020

Please indicate your availability in your application, in order of preference.

Please provide 5 JPEG images under 1MB. Also, please ensure your images are named with relevant titles as these will show in your exhibitor gallery.
