A farcical play, in which a hard-up inventor pretends to be his cousin, in order to escape the clutches of his creditors.

Tickets are sold via the Festival of Chichester (not West Dean Gardens) and can be purchased in advance online or at the gate on the night of the performance (there is no performance on Sunday 7 July).

Pre-performance food and drink

The Gardens Restaurant will be open from 5.30pm until 7.30pm to enjoy a pre-theatre meal or drink (serving until 6.45pm). On 6, 12 and 13 July the Gardens Restaurant will be open to the public until 9pm (last orders by 8pm) when a new evening summer menu will be available.

Picnics are welcome, either your own or you can pre-order from West Dean Gardens Restaurant at least 24 hours in advance. See the 2019 picnic menu
