9 Days 9 Stalls, Part 1: Tasty Treats and Cosy Feet

With 9 days to go until festival time and with 180 stalls to peruse through at the 20th West Dean Chilli Fiesta, there's an almost endless supply of garden and chilli-based produce to enjoy including food, drink, souvenirs and gadgets! Over the next week and a half, I'll be giving you the inside scoop on just but a few of the stall-holders that are guaranteed to spice up your visit to the Chilli Fiesta this August!…

The Garlic Farm

"We are the UK's largest garlic grower and specialist in all things garlic from chutneys and pickles to beer and ice cream". (That's not a joke either, they actually do ice cream.)

"We also specialise in providing seed garlic for people to grow their own. This year we have over 15 varieties available for planting, many of which will be at the festival to purchase along with our range of chutneys, sauces, pickles and gadgets."

Watch out for these great garlic flavours at the Fiesta:

Oak-Smoked Garlic, Heat Aged Black Garlic, Elephant Garlic, New Season Early Purple Wight and The Garlic Farm's famous Sweet Pickled Cloves.

Come to the stand for great products, to find out how to grow your own garlic and for tips on the best varieties for your garden or allotment!"

Backdoorshoes

Isn't it amazing when you get one of those 'light bulb moments' for a simple idea that sparks the creation of an entire business? Admittedly, I've never had one, and I'm sure not a lot of you have either. But Backdoorshoes was the creation of just such a moment…

"we are a family run business and decided to come up with the concept as we had an office at the end of the garden and always used to run out there with bare feet/socks/slippers or old shoes."

We thought that it would be a great idea to have unique attractive, vibrant designs on shoes that were easy to slip on/off, waterproof, lightweight and comfortable." [backdoorshoes]

Beautifully simple and genius as well I think you'll agree ;)

"The business has grown and grown with many loyal customers buying from friends and family members. They are perfect for leaving by the back door when you need to nip outside."

What is never simple however (or boring for that matter), are the wonderful designs that Backdoorshoes can't help.

"We sold many Backdoorshoes® last year and are delighted to be back again. The most popular ones were the Chilli shoes (which have featured on The One Show) and also the meadow shoes."

So get down to the 20th West Dean Chilli Fiesta on the 7th, 8th and 9th of August to experience all of the wonderful products that these stall holders as well as all of the other brilliant exhibitors have on offer! But hurry! Early bird tickets are only available until the 31st July!

Yum Yum Tree Fudge

"Our aim is to make the UK's best quality fudge. Sugar masks flavour so we have our own secret recipe of making it with less sugar, so you get more flavour as well as a smoother fudge!" Flavour really is the key word here as Yum Yum tree fudge are the kings of producing all manner of weird and wonderful combinations to match any occasion.

"All our fudge is gluten free, 100% vegetarian and we have a no nut recipe, all made with strong natural flavours. Last year we had 15 flavours, including our hot and extra hot chilli fudges and double ginger." Chilli fans can expect the same mouth-watering flavours at Chilli Fiesta 2015. But wait, that's not all…

…"This year to celebrate 20 years we will be having 20 flavours! We will also be offering diabetic fudge made with a natural sweetener. Watch out for some amazing new flavours this year made specially for this big event".

I for one cannot wait for Yum Yum Tree Fudge to set up at the 20th anniversary Chilli Fiesta this August. I'll be first in line! It's good for you (almost) and boy is it good for you!
