Countdown to Apple Affair

The line-up for Apple Affair has been finalised, the apples from the orchards have all been gathered in, the chefs have done their prep and the band is ready to entertain...

The Keston Cobblers will be performing LIVE. "Every song is an absolute killer…They're terrific." (Dermot O'Leary, BBC Radio 2).

Jean-Christophe Novelli will be cooking the famous Ze Novelli Academy Tarte Tatin and a Caramel Basket Late-summer Berry Surprise.

Giles Thompson, chef patron of The Earl of March in Lavant, will be cooking three courses with an apple theme including West Dean partridge, Loin of Funtington pork and Apple Charlotte with lavender honey cream.

Juice & Strain - cider making made simple. Dr Nevin Stewart will be sharing his effective yet economic way of producing apple juice, cider or apple wine at home, using his two-step method.

Katie Rushworth - Queen of Spades from ITV's Love Your Garden will be demonstrating how to make speedy soups from your allotment produce.

Laura Uphill - Medical Herbalist. Laura will be talking about hedgerow foods and the important health benefits of eating local, seasonal foods.

Bring your own apples along for identification by the experts. Shop 40 artisan stalls offering seasonal produce and products. A Vintage Tea Room, Real Ales and cider and orchard and gardens tours.

Children can enjoy a bouncy castle, games, harvest activities and a coconut shy!

West Dean Apple Affair is held during the British Food Fortnight (17 September - 2 October).
