Chilingirian String Quartet – Special Celebration Concert

The Old Library, West Dean College

£35

We are delighted to welcome the esteemed Chilingirian String Quartet back to West Dean College for this unique evening to celebrate West Dean founder, Edward James on the 40th Anniversary of his death in 1984.

Edward James, a passionate supporter of many ground breaking musicians and composers of his day, invited the then newly formed Chilingirian Quartet to play at West Dean in 1982, which instigated their annual short course for string quartet students which is still held at the College during the Easter break.

The concert programme will feature works selected by Levon Chilingirian, from the Edward James Archive at West Dean. These works will be on display from 6.45pm-7.15pm to view before the concert.

In this concert, they will be performing the following programme:

  • Haydn Quartet in B Flat, Op 64 No 3
  • Mozart Quartet in E Flat, K 428
  • Borodin Quartet No 2
