You are welcomed to an evening of conversation and discussion about interdisciplinary collaborative creative practice.

A collaboration formed over coffee at West Dean in 2017, between two international award-winning practitioners, artist and tutor Maz Jackson and author and dramatist Peter Billingham. Whilst on an egg tempera course Peter was Inspired by Maz's work, 'St. Brendan's Voyage'.

Peter revisited the 5th century Celtic narrative to compose a play 'The Drowned and the Saved'. The author's piece radically reimagined the Saint's journey and focussed on our world of refugees risking their lives on perilous seas. In the Autumn of 2018 the artist's Brendan woodcut prints were exhibited at the Link Gallery, Winchester University and associated paintings, 'Beyond Boundaries' complemented performances of the play at Winchester University Chapel, directed by Martin Jakeman, original music written and performed by Alexis Bennett.

Both creators have learnt much through their journey of collaboration and will discuss its many facets that brought it to fruition and future projects. Please join them as the conversation develops with questions and open discussion.
