By leaving a gift in your will you make a real difference to the future of West Dean College and Gardens. It's a powerful way to support the next generation of students and preserve our world-class historic gardens. Your gift will ensure that thousands of people can enjoy them for generations to come.
Whichever area of our work you choose to support, by pledging a legacy gift you become an important part of our future.
West Dean College and Gardens exist today thanks to the extraordinary vision of Edward James. Determined to inspire future generations of artists and craftspeople, he established The Edward James Foundation to educate and nurture students of creative arts and conservation. The Foundation has maintained and developed the estate and gardens for over 50 years alongside the development of West Dean College.
Your solicitor can best advise you on how to include West Dean College and Gardens in your will and ensure your intentions are recorded accurately. An existing will can be easily amended with a codicil to add a further instruction.
As part of the Edward James Foundation, West Dean College and Gardens has charitable status in the UK. This means that any gift you make to us will be deducted from the value of your estate before your tax liability is calculated so a gift in your will could reduce the total amount of tax due on your estate.
