Gift in your will

Making a will is the best way to ensure your loved ones have a secure future and that your property and possessions are dealt with in the way you want. After you have provided for friends and family, please consider leaving a gift to West Dean College and Gardens in your will.

A gift to future generations

By leaving a gift in your will you make a real difference to the future of West Dean College and Gardens. It's a powerful way to support the next generation of students and preserve our world-class historic gardens. Your gift will ensure that thousands of people can enjoy them for generations to come.

If there is a particular aspect of West Dean – Gardens, House or College that you would like to benefit, you can specify where your gift is used. Your gift could enable us to provide scholarship or bursary support to talented conservation or fine arts students. In the gardens, your gift might support the restoration of important historic buildings or create new garden displays for others to enjoy.

By pledging a legacy gift you become an important part of our future.

One man's vision

West Dean College and Gardens exist today thanks to the extraordinary vision of Edward James. Determined to inspire future generations of artists and craftspeople and ensure that skills were not lost, he established The Edward James Foundation to educate and nurture students in the creative arts and conservation.

Fifty years on, this mission is as crucial as ever. Your legacy will be the continued preservation of craft skills and an inspirational environment in which they can flourish.
