    Press Release: West Dean College announces Alec Stevens as first remote Artist-in-Residence

    West Dean College of Arts and Conservation is pleased to announce that Alec Stevens will be its first remote Artist-in-Residence. The residency, which has come about as a result of lockdown, will run throughout the summer and see Alec explore digital technologies to make a new body of work. With funding from Arts Council England and support from the Pervasive Media Studio at the Watershed in Bristol, Alec will be working from his studio to look at how technology can make the viewing experience more participatory and interactive for an online audience.

    Press Release: 2017/2018 Artist in Residence announced today by West Dean College

    The Visual Arts department at West Dean College is delighted to announce the results of their recent Artist-in-Residence Open Call. The three recipients of the 2017/18 residencies are Gabriela Beveridge, Katie Schwab and Ross Taylor. The artists were selected from 113 submissions made during the three-month Open Call, which attracted entries from around the world. The selected artists will be resident at West Dean for three weeks, during which time they will not only develop their practices and deepen their knowledge of West Dean, but also work closely with students on the full-time Visual Arts programmes.

    Press Release: Artist-in-Residence Programme

    West Dean College announces Artist-in-Residence programme, launching on 24th April 2017. Artists are invited to submit proposals outlining how they wish to spend their three-week residency at the uniquely immersive creative arts college in West Sussex. Three residencies are available, the first commencing in October 2017. The deadline for entries will be at midnight on Monday 3rd July, and residencies will be publicly announced on Monday 24th July.
