Sarah Macrae

Sarah graduated Brighton Polytechnic in 1981 and has combined her studio practice as a jeweller with teaching part time. A member of The Designer Jewellers Group, she has exhibited at the Barbican Arts Centre (London) for the last twenty eight years. In 2000 Sarah was invited to write an introduction to Jewellery for Crowood Press and she features in several youtube videos. Sarah's work can be seen on Facebook and Instagram.

Sarah's approach to teaching is focused on facilitating individual student needs and supporting them to achieve their objectives. Sarah also uses demonstrations and examples to communicate to the whole group where relevant. Sarah is a qualified teacher for further and higher education

Sarah's own creative practice combines a wide range of materials and processes. While recent work has focused on using dyed and heat formed polypropylene combined with silver, Sarah is also developing ideas in a new direction looking at small contained spaces.
