Maxine Relton
Teaching at West Dean since 2005, Maxine works across drawing, painting, printmaking, bookmaking and mixed media. Exhibits widely, runs a 3-floor gallery of her work in Gloucestershire, included in public and private collections around the world. Trained in London at Camberwell and the Slade. An elected member of the Royal West of England Academy.
Approach to Teaching
I enjoy helping students develop their personal strengths and ideas. My own practice is very broadly based and exploratory, enabling me to give an individual and flexible response to all students.
What inspires my own work
My emotional response to life's experiences that can come from many, often unexpected quarters and often takes me into untried territory - a challenge I always enjoy.
