Kate Dicker: Monoprint three

Kate Dicker

Describe your approach to teaching:

Teaching is based on practical work through which students can gain knowledge and confidence in how to create a print. They explore the varied textures and tones by using wood engraving tools and discussions take place each day about the formalities in creating a successful image. There is plenty of time for one to one tuition and encouragement is given to develop individual's own methods. A power point presentation complements the course.

What inspires your own work?

The challenge between analytical drawing and making work that takes me into the unknown! I like dramatic landscapes and historical animal imagery.
