The West Dean environment continues to be an inspiration for our photography courses and the surrounding area is also visited, in particular the classic coastal areas and the Sussex Downs.

Techniques includes: Digital photography, Digital image manipulation and editing and Adobe Photoshop courses, Portraiture/portrait photography, Camera technique, Plant photography, Film, Animation and Digital video editing

Many courses make use of photogenic surroundings around the College and the wider local area.

Software packages used include: Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements

Workshops and equipment

Digital photography courses are usually based in the Park Room digital suite, equipped with eight PC workstations, which share scanning and printing facilities when required. Some courses are allocated an alternative base either in one of the Art Studios or in the Main House (both accessible by stairs or lift in most cases). A local photo-lab is sometimes used to develop and print images from digital and film-based cameras for evaluation during some courses.
