Tapestry and Textile Art Professional Development Diploma - 1 year
Context
The West Dean College Professional Development Diploma is a student-led programme aimed at tapestry and textile artists who wish to reflect, to explore and to refresh their creative practice. Create your own programme with this flexible diploma which gives you the opportunity to focus on a personal project guided by experienced tutors in a supportive and well-equipped environment.
The Proposal
As part of your application, you will be rquired to submit a proposal. This will be discussed and further negotiated during interview with the programme tutor.
Programme content
The work will be supervised on a tutorial basis, supported by a drawing tutor and visiting tutors. In addition, you have the support of the College Librarian, the use of the College Library and the loan facility of the British Library.
You have your own dedicated workspace and are encouraged to work in an interdisciplinary way, across all the diploma programmes. You are welcome to attend life drawing classes and seminars alongside the Painting & Drawing and Sculpture students.

Entry requirements
Successful completion of the Postgraduate Diploma in Tapestry & Textile Art (University of Sussex) at West Dean and the submission of a research project proposal.
Applications are welcomed from candidates who do not possess the entry requirements listed above provided they have substantial relevant experience or long-term involvement in practice, research and design in a related subject.
