Books as Art explores the way in which contemporary British artists use the medium of the book as a form for artistic expression, featuring work by Judith Alder, Clare Bryan, Ron King, Ana Maria Pacheco, Marcus Rees Roberts and Carolyn Trant.
Visually manipulating and expanding the convention of the book as a vehicle for expressing narrative and illustrative ideas, this exhibition examines how critical issues such as memory, text, history and myth can be constructed in a way that lends itself to the confines of a book, yet at the same time expands it into something participatory, sculptural and often-times object-based.
