Anna Crutchley
Anna Crutchley originally trained in woven textiles, and now makes bespoke passementerie - tassels, cords, braids and fringes - for interior decorators, upholsterers, furniture restorers and heritage organisations. Commissions include the National Trust at Petworth House and Polesden Lacey, Guildford Cathedral, Sir John Soanes Museum, and the Hyundai Classic Car Museum in Seoul, Korea.
Her approach is to look closely at the traditional techniques and design of tassels, to produce work that is suitable for both historical as well as modern interiors. Her book on tassel making has become a standard text for textile designer-makers.
