West Dean Scholarship Fund Appeal
The unique range of courses offered at West Dean College provides an opportunity for students to develop advanced-level practical skills in well-equipped studio-workshops. Many of the skills that we teach and studio resources we provide are in decline elsewhere. We receive no funds from public sources, although our MA Degrees and Diplomas are validated by The University of Sussex. Our graduates are numbered amongst the leading practitioners in their fields throughout the world, and believe that the best students should be given the opportunity to study here, on both our full-time and short courses. We are therefore seeking to increase the number of scholarships and bursaries we can offer students.
If you are interested in giving to the West Dean Scholarship Fund Appeal, you can either download an appeals form (click here) or contact, in confidence, The Principal's Office at West Dean College.
Donations to the Edward James Foundation
Your one-off or regular donations to the Edward James Foundation contribute to the safe-keeping of West Dean College and its charitable activities, enabling us to purchase or replace equipment and other resources and to maintain the house and collection. Your gift provides a valued contribution towards core operational expenditure.
If you would like to give in this way, click here to download a donations form.
Volunteering opportunities
There are three ways of volunteering at West Dean, depending on your interests and experience. Please write to us with your interests and enclose a copy of your CV.
If you are interested in invigilating our gallery, write to The Curator, Sussex Barn Gallery.
If you are interested in gardening, write to The Gardens Supervisor, West Dean Gardens.
If you are interested in administration and general duties, write to Head of Communications.
Send your letter and CV to West Dean, Chichester, West Sussex, PO18 0QZ. Thank you.
Legacies, bequests and gifts (planned giving)
These gifts provide us with the opportunity to plan ahead to help protect our charitable activities for future generations. You can bequeath to The West Dean Scholarship Fund or to The Edward James Foundation (registered charity number 306372). When writing your will or changing one through a codicil, your solicitor can advise you how to leave gifts of money, shares or specialist equipment to us. If you are considering giving in these ways, please let us know by contacting The Principal's Office.
