West Dean College and Gardens is in South East England, some 6 miles south of Midhurst and 6 miles north of the historic city of Chichester and 12 miles from the south coast. It is within reach of the cross-channel ferries from Portsmouth, Dover and Newhaven. There is easy road and rail access from London (65 miles) and Gatwick and Heathrow airports.

Travelling by car or coach
The Gardens, restaurant, garden and gift shop and Sussex Barn Gallery are all accessible via the Gardens entrance on A286 which is clearly signposted from the road. There is a free car park for cars and coaches which includes spaces for disabled visitors. West Dean College and the Conference Centre are accessible via West Dean College entrance. There is a car park with spaces for disabled visitors. If you are using a satellite navigation system key the following postcode, PO18 ORX, to find West Dean Gardens.

Travelling by bus
If you are travelling by bus, from either Chichester or Midhurst direction, please note the number 60 bus stops at the pedestrian gate entrance to the Gardens.

Travelling by train

Direct train services to Chichester are available from London Victoria. Connecting buses (Stagecoach number 60) are available from the bus station (adjacent to the train station), alternatively a taxi rank is situated outside the station. It is a 10-15 minute journey to West Dean College and Gardens.

A faster rail service operates from London Waterloo to Haslemere, a 20-minute taxi journey away.
