Ken Watt, Tutor and Head of Ceramics Conservation and Restoration After gaining a Diploma of Art and Ceramic Design from Glasgow School of Art, Ken worked in a studio pottery before joining the Burrell Collection of Glasgow Museums and Galleries as a conservator before joining West Dean in 1986. Ken's research interests are focussed on the conservation of Meissen porcelain. He was awarded the Nigel Williamson's prize for services to conservation, awarded by UKIC (ICON) in 2002.
Lorna Calcutt, Assistant Tutor, Ceramics Conservation and Restoration (part-time) Following a degree in Art and Design from the University of Dundee and a postgraduate Diploma in the History of Fine and Decorative Arts, Lorna undertook the West Dean Diploma in 1994. Since then, she worked at the British Museum for four years before setting up as a freelance conservator of ceramic and glass. She took up her present post in September 1999 and continues to practise freelance.
