This course aims to broaden your creativity and confidence in making textile art, through lively experimentation with many different media and techniques. You explore painting, mark-making and print methods on fabric and experiment with ways of combining textiles with found materials. You then start developing your ideas for a personal collage, using different approaches to assembling it using layering and piecing methods. Finally, enhancing your design with hand and machine stitching.

Cas Holmes

Cas Holmes trained in fine art before specialising in painting and mixed media textiles. Cas regularly gives workshops, works to commissions and exhibits her work. She has works placed in hospitals, libraries, museums and even Schroder's Bank. She also has work in collections including the Arts Council England collection at Hove Museum and Art Gallery, Quilt und Art Gallery, Frankfurt and more recently her work was purchased by the American Museum of Art and Design in New York. full profile
