This year's Chilli Fiesta started on Friday 5 August and beat last year's 19,000 visitors with 20,000 over the three days. So as anticipated, we did indeed raise the roof!

The three days saw West Dean Gardens given over to chilli madness, from flaming food, live music and salsa dancing to Hot! Hot! Hot! chillies– there was something for everyone!

Visitors admired the vast array of over 250 peppers grown in pots in the magnificently restored Victorian Glasshouses and displayed in pristine rows in every shape and size ranging from serene green through to red hot. There was plenty of opportunity to tantalise your taste-buds, with over 150 stallholders selling chilli related items including plants, seeds, sauces and prepared meals as well as beer, chocolate, ice cream, clothing and jewellery.

So bring it on for 2012 companeros!
