The charitable aims of the Edward James Foundation are to deliver education through West Dean College and to preserve the West Dean Estate. We could not deliver our charitable aims with out the generous fundraising support we receive from our donors.

As a donor you will become part of something special, knowing that you are helping to keep skills, crafts and values alive. Like Edward James, you too can become a patron of art and culture and support the ongoing work of the internationally renowned College and world class Gardens.

The Edward James Foundation receives no continuing government funding and increasingly relies on the generosity of individual benefactors, our Friends, charitable trusts, foundations and companies to invest in the preservation and bringing to life of traditional skills.

Become a Friend of West Dean and receive annual benefits including free access to the Gardens and previews of the new Short Courses. Click here for more information.

Your one-off or regular donations to the Edward James Foundation will contribute to the safe-keeping of our charitable activities, enabling us to purchase or replace equipment and other resources, provide scholarships and bursaries for students who would not otherwise be able to study here and to maintain the House and Gardens. Your gift provides a valued contribution towards core operational expenditure. Thank you.

Legacy gifts provide us with the opportunity to plan ahead to help protect our charitable activities for future generations. When writing your will or changing one through a codicil, your solicitor can advise you how to leave gifts of money, shares or specialist equipment to us. Thank you.
