The Estate’s l51 houses and cottages are maintained largely by a directly-employed workforce and let to a range of people including local families, individuals working locally, staff and several students. Many of the buildings are flint-faced and some, including the College, are faced more ornately with knapped flints and galletting (small slivers of flint inserted edge on into the mortar between individual flints).
