In my teaching, I try to be very sensitive to each student and encourage each to achieve their goals both challenging and increasing their enhusiasm on the way!
What will students gain if they come on one of your courses?They gain an insight and curiosity of their chosen subject by creating studies and work from the project I set them, encouraging them to create confident paintings for the future and for themselves.
Are there any particular techniques/processes you use in your teaching?I use step-by-steps, demonstrations, discussions and working from life and photographs - empowering students to use everything for their reference material.
What inspires your own work?Nature in all its guises and painters such as Edward Seago, Maggie Hamlin and Trevor Chamberlian.
Where can students see examples of your work?On my website, galleries in Hampshire, Cornwall and Wiltshire and in my books which are on sale through Amazon.
Where did you gain your training?I gained my teaching certificate at Eastleigh College.
Teaching experience:I've taught for 35 years and was deputy head for adult education at Wildern (Fair Oak) in the 90s.I've also taught at Missenden Abbey, Denman College and Dedham Hall.
Is your work in any public or private collections?All over the world in private collections. I have been a prize winner twice, at the Mall Galleries London, and at Westminster Gallery, London.
Have you written any books/had any articles published?I have written 29 art books, published with Search Press, and have made 9 videos. I have had articles published in 'Leisure Painter' and 'Be Creative'.
Do you belong to any professional groups/societies?Society of women srtists, society of floral painters, society of wildlife artists, St Ives society of artists.
