I aim to enthuse the students with an appreciation of the art of engraving suffieceintly so they wish to continue practising and honing their skills.

An appreciation of the art of engraving and the instruction needed so that they can process their skills by observation and practise.

Are there any particular techniques/processes you use in your teaching?

Demonstrating, discussion and showing samples.

What inspires your own work?

Joy in the creative procss, a facination for engraving and a desire to achieve the looked for result.

Westminster Abbey, St Paul's Cathedral, IPG website and HEA website.

Where did you gain your training?

Sir John Cass College, Staatliche Werkskundschule, Schwäbisch - Gmünd, Germany, City and Guilsds, Cass Diploma (distinction). M.A. (Distinction).

Teaching experience:

Thirty-six years comprising both full-time and part-time.

Is your work in any public or private collections?

Yes, Westminster Abbey, St Paul's Cathedral, Norwich Cathedral, Goldsmiths' Collection and many more both here and abroad.

Do you belong to any professional groups/societies?

Institute of Professional Goldsmiths, Hand Engravers Association of Great Britian and the Heraldry Society.
