I aim to bring out the best of every student, to always encourage, and to lead by example, to combine tradition and innovation, to encourage experimentation, and to put aside preconceptions, following the maxim I don’t seek I find.

A positive and personal sense of direction, research skills, confidence in their own ability, and how to gain inspiration.

Are there any particular techniques/processes you use in your teaching?

How to combine free thought, playfulness and speculation with discpline and craftsmanship.

What inspires your own work?

The detail, beauty and values set by the natural world. The work of the swiss architect Peter Zumthor and the British architect craftsman David Pye.

Examples of my work can be seen at Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood, (V&A Museum).

Where did you gain your training? Experience?

I trained at the Royal College of Art.

What teaching experience have you had?

Senior Lecturer, school of design, Kingston University.

Is your work in any public or private collections?

My work is in private collections both here and USA.

Have you written any books/had articles published?

I have written articles for the guild of master craftsman.
