My teaching style is relaxed and informative. I encourage students to enjoy and understand beading techniques in order to be able to approach any beading project large or small with confidence and knowledge.

What will students gain if they come on one of your courses?

A comprehensive understanding of beading techniques, history of beading and beading in the modern world.

Where can students see examples of your work?

I have had a number of articles published in the Bead Society of Great Britain Newsletter. I contributed to a chapter in a book published in America about the Herringbone Weave beadwork technique.

Where did you gain your training?

I am mainly a self-taught beadworker. I completed a City and Guilds Teaching Certificate in 2000. I have taught Beadworking workshops at West Dean and Pendrall for a number of years as well as teaching a monthly class at Lichfield College in Staffordshire.

Teaching experience:
I have taught Beadwork in some form or another for the last 15 years. I teach a monthly class in Staffordshire where I live and other workshops on request. I have taught at both West Dean and Pendrall for a number of years.

Is your work in any public or private collections?

No, but my work has been included in exhibitions at Cheltenham Museum and Art Gallery and The Manor House Museum in Bury St Edmunds.

Have you written any books/had articles published?

Yes I have had a number of articles published in the Bead Society of Great Britain Newsletter. I have had articles published in The Bead Workers Guild Journal. I contributed a chapter on my visits to South Africa in a book published in America about Herringbone Stitch.

Do you belong to any professional groups/societies?

I am an active member of the Bead Society. I was a founder member of the bursary held by the Bead Society which enables beadworkers, who may not be able to travel, to come and exchange ideas and inspiration with British Beadworkers. So far I have been involved with beaders from South Africa, North America, Russia and next year Eastern Europe. I am also a Director of the Beadworkers Guild and am at the present time involved with organising and setting up an exhibition in Northampton Museum and Art Gallery as well as being involved in the Historical collection of the Beadworkers Guild.
