Identifying the potential of each individual student, demonstrating techniques and encouraging a regime of practice to overcome hurdles and maximise visual skills is pivotal to my teaching.
What will students gain if they come on one of your courses?Working at their pace in an encouraging, informative and challenging environment that is about enjoyment of the subject.
Are there any particular techniques/processes you use in your teaching?By breaking down complex structures into manageable achievements, students can progress with confidence. Students are introduced to line, tone and colour together with visual concentration to enhance their practice.
What inspires your own work?The variety of nature and the never ending detail that can be found in simple subjects that are so often overlooked and neglected, but have a beauty that is worth discovering and preserving.

Where did you gain your training?
Diploma in Botanical Illustration from the English Gardening School
Teaching experience:Teaching on the Diploma Course at Chelsea Physic Garden, Sarah Raven’s Cutting Garden, numerous workshops and courses throughout the UK and Italy.
