Lucian Taylor

My approach tends to be fairly hands on: demonstration, discussions with students about their aims and ideas, and assistance on the technical aspects of creating a piece. As much as possible I encourage students to develop their own approach to making.
What will students gain if they come on one of your courses? They will gain technical ability and creative tools for developing and realising their ideas.
Are there any particular techniques/processes you use in your teaching?Raising (Synclastic and Anti-clastic), press work, Tig welding, Forging.
What inspires your own work?An understanding of the possibilities of material properties and processes combined with anything from Mr Men to the Credit Crunch (seriously).
