I ensure correct and safe framing methods and techniques are used to both enhance and protect all types of art work to conservation standards.
What will students gain if they come on one of your courses?Beginners will be taught how to plan and frame a picture to professional standards, using basic equipment all acheivable at home. Those who are beyond beginners will be shown more advacned equipment and taught more mount cutting, conservation framing, framing photography and memorabilia etc.
Are there any particular techniques/processes you use in your teaching?Demonstration, individual and group tuition, practical workshops and disscussions.
What inspires your own work?The combination of artistic, creative and mechanical skills.

Where did you gain your training/experience?ACSET Teching Cert. Picture Framing 1975 (self-taught), Mechanical Engineering C&G tech. ONC Cert.
What teaching experience have you had?I started teaching in 1991 - Frameworks Gallery (Bermuda), Dood's Brow School (D&T), East Surrey College, Reigate School of Art and Design and since 2000 at West Dean College.
Have you written any books/had any articles published?An Introduction to Picture Framing (A technical manual), articles in the Bermuda Gazette and Homes and Antiques, 2006.
Do you belong to any professional groups/societies?The Institute of Conservation/PPFA
