An understanding of the properties and possibilities of working with willow and techniques to create a variety of forms in this exiting material
What inspires your own work?The natural world and natural materials working with materials sourced as locally as possible
Where did you gain your training?Studied countryside Recreation at Merrist Wood Agricultural College and worked for ten years on a variety of conservation projects. Turned my hobby of coppice crafts into a profession specialising in hurdles and frame baskets. Studied City and Guilds in Creative Basketry at City Lit College, London
Teaching experience:Have taught willow crafts for eight years at a variety of venues including Museum of English Rural Life, Reading, Hove Museum, Rivers and Rowing Museum, Henley
