For me, teaching is about developing a student’s creative ability and bringing out their artistic skills and engendering confidence in their personal artistic language. I like to work in studio groups and in one to one tutorials. It’s important to help a student develop a confidence in their work and the ability to talk with ease about their work.

What will students gain if they come on one of your courses?

I’m a working artist and illustrator and I have a good knowledge of my field. I can share my experiences. My course will involve painting on location and creating in the studio from that experience. It will be about working with colour and exploring and examining the power of colour.

Are there any particular techniques/processes you use in your teaching?
